Responsibilities
- Own the security posture across application, infrastructure, and operational security.
- Conduct code reviews, threat modeling, and penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities.
- Design and implement security controls and incident response processes.
- Establish security policies and compliance frameworks as the company scales.
- Hire and manage security contractors or future security hires.
- Develop internal security tooling and features.
- Collaborate with engineering to embed security into the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering, preferably in a payments or regulated financial institution.
- Experience with cloud environments, specifically GCP, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Knowledgeable in both application and operational security.
- Ability to write production code and develop internal security tools.
- Experience building security programs in early-stage or high-growth companies.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to payments and banking.
- Willingness to take ownership in ambiguous situations.
- Based in New York City or willing to relocate.
