Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Android Automotive OS infotainment applications.
- Architect full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback.
- Develop modules that communicate with VHAL and other HALs using AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing practices.
- Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
- Deliver high-performance, compliant Android infotainment applications across automotive platforms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience is stated in the project requirements, with approximately 6 years of Android development and infotainment or telematics experience requested elsewhere.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electronics, electrical engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++14/17.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.
- Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, and HAL-to-application communication.
- Familiarity with Android Automotive OS car services and infotainment integration.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level.
- Exposure to media, phone, navigation, and cloud communication applications.
- Experience with partitioning concepts, cross-partition communication, unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Git, debugging tools, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434, TARA, secure communication, and cybersecurity practices.
