Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop NLP, text analytics, prompt orchestration, guardrails, content filtering, and human-in-the-loop workflows using approved AI/ML tools and data environments.
- Translate unstructured-data use cases into repeatable technical patterns addressing privacy, provenance, evaluation, monitoring, and operational integration.
- Build AI applications, agentic workflows, retrieval and evaluation patterns, and MLOps and model deployment frameworks.
- Collaborate with Trustworthy AI, security, data governance, customer experience, product, engineering, quality, and business stakeholders.
- Document work products, decisions, risks, and delivery evidence to support traceability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship, residence in the United States, authorization to work in the United States, and residence in the U.S. for three full years out of the last five are required.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, or a related field is required; a master's degree may substitute for two years of relevant experience.
- At least six years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions in enterprise cloud environments is required.
- Experience with LLMs, generative AI, NLP, retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, vector databases, and prompt engineering is preferred.
- Experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Databricks AI/ML, MLflow, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with evaluation frameworks, model testing, AI application monitoring, AI safety controls, content filtering, guardrails, human-in-the-loop review, and Trustworthy AI practices is preferred.
- Experience developing MLOps pipelines, model deployment frameworks, model versioning, performance monitoring, automated retraining, and cloud-native data integrations is preferred.
- Strong programming experience with Python, SQL, and modern AI/ML libraries and frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Machine Learning, enterprise data platforms, predictive analytics, document intelligence, text analytics, classification, summarization, recommendation, and generative AI use cases is preferred.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, privacy controls, role-based access models, and regulated environments is preferred.
- Experience optimizing AI/ML workloads for performance, scalability, reliability, and cloud cost management, and experience with CI/CD using GitHub, is preferred.
- Experience in federal government, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments is preferred, along with strong analytical, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

- The role is remote within the United States, with a strong preference for Washington, DC Metro Area candidates and occasional onsite meetings in Washington, DC.
