  • Support hardware features throughout the IC lifecycle, from design and pre-silicon verification through post-silicon verification, release, and long-term support.
  • Build low-level firmware including device drivers, initialization and startup code, timing-sensitive system software, and radio control features.
  • Optimize real-time embedded software for performance, reliability, power efficiency, and memory and CPU utilization.
  • Debug complex issues across software, firmware, hardware, and system boundaries using laboratory tools and debuggers.
  • Collaborate with hardware, silicon, systems, and product teams on requirements, design reviews, and new-device bring-up.
  • Contribute to automated testing, validation, development tooling, code reviews, and design reviews.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance and best practices.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software or firmware development.
  • Strong programming skills in Embedded C and/or C++.
  • Experience developing for microcontrollers in resource-constrained, real-time environments using bare metal and/or RTOS-based systems.
  • Hands-on hardware/software debugging experience with debuggers, JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
  • Experience with low-level embedded software such as device drivers, interrupts, peripheral interfaces, timing-sensitive code, or memory-constrained systems.
  • Experience taking features through design, implementation, testing, and release.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Preferred experience includes Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Thread, Wi-Fi, proprietary radio systems, communication stacks, radio control software, PHY/MAC functionality, and low-power optimization.
  • Preferred experience includes SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, timers, Python, automated testing, validation frameworks, CI, hardware-in-the-loop testing, silicon bring-up, multi-core microcontrollers, concurrency, synchronization, and assembly for ARM or RISC-V architectures.
