Responsibilities
- Develop and support scientific applications using Python.
- Optimize application performance for high-performance computing architectures.
- Provide GPU programming.
- Use version control tools such as Git.
- Investigate and debug incidents and install, modify, or manipulate code.
- Independently prioritize work based on stakeholder needs and mission objectives.
- Maintain application security and documentation throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Participate in software requirements, code reviews, and test plan reviews.
- Create clear and thorough code and design documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or another related scientific or technical discipline.
- The posting states 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, programming, or web development; it also lists bachelor’s degree and 0 years of related experience under required education.
- Expert Python programming skills.
- Professional knowledge in one or more physical science fields.
- Experience with debugging, version control, and documentation.
- Experience with high-performance computing and GPU programming.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Desirable qualifications include object-oriented Python programming and domain-specific languages.
