Responsibilities
- Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its supporting infrastructure, primarily in Go.
- Build a universal agent-skills platform, including portable formats, authoring and publishing tools, and linting.
- Establish correctness standards through evaluations for skills and tools.
- Design and deliver integrations for third-party AI ecosystems in collaboration with product teams and external partners.
- Contribute to the Elastic CLI and develop, maintain, and support Elastic Stack libraries, tools, and integrations.
- Engage with developer communities and contribute to cross-functional initiatives while shaping product direction.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience with backend systems, services, or libraries.
- Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and working knowledge of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and protocols such as MCP.
- Significant recent experience with Go; experience with other programming languages is beneficial.
- Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
- Ability to contribute to unfamiliar codebases and learn multiple programming languages.
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices, product thinking, and developer experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including working with customers and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, globally distributed team.
- Preferred qualifications include infrastructure experience, interest in telemetry and observability, open-source or technical-community involvement, partner engineering experience, and Elastic product experience.
