Responsibilities
- Understand Grab’s financial services and banking data across Southeast Asian markets.
- Design and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems with orchestration, tool use, planning, memory, retrieval, and multi-agent workflows.
- Develop AI solutions for representation learning, conversational AI, and agentic operations.
- Fine-tune and evaluate large language models using supervised fine-tuning, instruction tuning, LoRA, and PEFT.
- Design and implement transformer architectures from scratch and train foundational, domain-specific representation, and promoting models using large-scale transactional and behavioral data.
- Build evaluation frameworks, safety guardrails, monitoring systems, feedback loops, and high-quality training and evaluation datasets.
- Manage AI systems across experimentation, evaluation, deployment, optimization, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Lead delivery from problem definition and architecture through production deployment and ongoing operation.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, risk, and operations teams to develop reliable and responsible AI solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience as an individual contributor.
- Production experience designing and deploying at least one enterprise-grade agentic solution, including tool integration, orchestration, state and memory management, evaluation, guardrails, observability, and failure handling.
- Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangSmith, and LangChain, plus understanding of retrieval-augmented generation, LLM orchestration, tool calling, and agent evaluation.
- Strong understanding of transformer architectures, attention mechanisms, tokenization, positional encoding, training objectives, optimization, and inference, with the ability to implement and train transformer models from scratch.
- Expert proficiency in Python, Spark, and SQL, including Presto or Hive, and knowledge of machine learning concepts such as bagging, boosting, and recommendation engines.
- Experience deploying scalable AI and machine learning systems with MLflow, Kubeflow, TFX, or SageMaker, including model serving, monitoring, automated evaluation, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to apply clean coding, modular system design, testing, APIs, and version control while balancing latency, cost, reliability, security, and scalability.
