Base Salary
$65k - $85k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and refactor backend software features and modules using approved programming languages and frameworks.
- Contribute to database schema design, API development, backend systems design, and data modeling for the Hyperlift Stars Platform.
- Own features through implementation, testing, deployment, production release, rollback planning, and post-release support.
- Write unit, integration, and system-level tests and use observability tools and AI-assisted techniques for debugging.
- Troubleshoot issues in backend services and microservices using monitoring systems, user reports, and automated alerts.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, Agile delivery, and the full software lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional experience in backend software development.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks, preferably Elixir/Phoenix and/or Python/Flask.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and experience building and consuming APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, data modeling, backend systems design, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- Ability to deliver reliable features under the guidance of senior engineers and collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and technical leadership.
- Experience or enthusiasm for AI-assisted development tools and workflows, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
