Responsibilities
- Support development and testing of embedded firmware for UPS power conversion systems.
- Model and simulate power converters and control systems using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Assist with implementing digital control algorithms on DSPs or microcontrollers.
- Support Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
- Develop and execute test cases for control performance, firmware behavior, and fault conditions.
- Compare simulation results with embedded software and hardware test results.
- Support laboratory testing, debugging, and analysis of power electronic hardware.
- Work with PFC converters, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
- Document simulation results, test data, and technical findings.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, controls, and test engineers.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Coursework, research, or project experience in control systems, DSP, embedded systems, or power electronics.
- Experience with MATLAB or Simulink.
- Basic programming experience in C or C++.
- Basic understanding of feedback control and power conversion concepts.
- Familiarity with Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, or Hardware-in-the-Loop validation.
- Experience creating simulation models, test cases, or automated test scripts.
- Familiarity with DSPs or embedded microcontrollers.
- Exposure to PFC, DC/DC converter, or inverter topologies.
- Experience working with oscilloscopes and laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of PWM, digital control loops, or real-time embedded systems.
- Experience with Python, Git, or automated testing is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
