Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of modular, maintainable, and high-performance Android Automotive OS infotainment applications.
- Architect full-stack solutions for media, navigation, user profiles, and distributed playback.
- Develop modules communicating with VHAL and other HALs using AIDL and HIDL.
- Integrate applications with Android system services and vendor-specific frameworks.
- Debug and optimize issues across application, framework, and HAL layers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and QA teams on integration and validation.
- Mentor junior developers and enforce architecture, code quality, and testing best practices.
- Create and present architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation documentation.
- Ensure infotainment application performance, compliance, and integration across automotive platforms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience is required; the posting also specifies 6 years of Android application development and infotainment/telematics experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree in engineering is also referenced.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ standards 14/17.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android NDK, Jetpack libraries, and MVVM architecture.
- Experience with Android Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
- Hands-on experience with AIDL, HIDL, VHAL, HAL-to-application communication, AAOS car services, and infotainment integration.
- Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and CAN at the application level.
- Exposure to media, phone, navigation, and cloud-communication applications, plus partitioning and cross-partition communication.
- Experience with unit testing, instrumentation testing, and mocking frameworks.
- Experience with Git, debugging tools, adb, logcat, Perfetto, and Systrace.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity, TARA, and secure communication practices.
- Automotive or embedded-systems experience is preferred.
