Responsibilities
- Develop embedded C/C++ software, low-level drivers, and system applications for satellite avionics, payload processing, monitoring, and power management.
- Configure embedded Linux kernels, system settings, and bootloaders for aerospace hardware platforms.
- Develop RTOS-based software that meets real-time, performance, and mission-critical requirements.
- Integrate SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, PCI, PCIe, Ethernet, and SpaceWire communications interfaces.
- Implement IP, TLS, IPsec, AES, RSA, ECDSA, and ECDH technologies for secure embedded communications.
- Lead development, integration, testing, release management, and validation of reusable embedded software modules.
- Work with hardware and FPGA engineers to integrate, debug, and validate software on target platforms.
- Translate system and customer requirements into software architectures and designs.
- Contribute to engineering standards, development practices, and workflow improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, code walkthroughs, troubleshooting, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 9 years of experience developing embedded software.
- Advanced C/C++ experience with low-level software, device drivers, and embedded applications.
- Deep experience with embedded Linux, kernel configuration, system settings, and bootloaders.
- Strong RTOS development experience and understanding of real-time system constraints.
- Ability to interpret schematics and hardware documentation for embedded software and driver development.
- Proficiency with networking and communications protocols and secure communication standards.
- Familiarity with cryptographic principles and their application in embedded systems.
- Experience with software integration, debugging, and system-level validation.
- Familiarity with OpenCL or CUDA is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and technical communication skills.
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers in a collaborative engineering environment.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
