Responsibilities
- Lead the conception, development, and delivery of the Infor Varial Payroll solution.
- Ensure compliant and reliable payroll functionality addressing German tax, social security, employment law, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to integrated payroll, HR administration, employee self-service, and digital HR management capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product Management, UX Design, and Quality Assurance to deliver business-critical features.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code according to Varial best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical roadmap planning.
- Drive improvements to software performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Evaluate current and emerging technologies for use in the company’s solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and support the professional development of less experienced software developers.
Requirements
- Experience with the legal and regulatory requirements of German payroll processing.
- Experience developing payroll, HR, or other business-critical enterprise applications.
- Understanding of German payroll processes, including wage and salary accounting, tax regulations, social security requirements, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Knowledge of German payroll reporting and electronic communication procedures, including regulated data exchange with social security institutions, tax authorities, and other public bodies.
- Experience with relevant programming languages and technologies such as Java, Vaadin, C++, and SQL.
- Extensive experience in software development and business application design.
- Experience with agile development methods and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with DevOps toolchains and practices is desirable.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and professionally developing software engineers is desirable.
