Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers and customer-facing teams to understand needs, test assumptions, and identify product opportunities.
- Lead ambiguous initiatives from discovery and prototyping through production rollout, adoption, and iteration.
- Write and ship software across services, APIs, and customer-facing experiences.
- Set technical direction, make architecture decisions, and align multiple teams around delivery.
- Own production quality through correctness, reliability, performance, safe rollouts, and operational improvement.
- Improve engineering effectiveness through design and code reviews, mentoring senior engineers, and removing delivery obstacles.
- Champion Samsara’s cultural principles and hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, high-performing team.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success shipping customer-facing products and growing them beyond initial launch with measurable business or customer outcomes.
- Strong product judgment and experience working directly with customers on poorly defined problems using evidence to guide decisions.
- Deep hands-on software engineering experience designing, implementing, and operating production systems.
- Experience scaling products and their underlying systems while balancing delivery speed, reliability, and technical investment.
- Experience providing technical leadership across team boundaries and influencing without formal authority.
- Experience building B2B software through an early growth stage or software for routing, workforce management, physical operations, or similar domains is useful but not required.
