Responsibilities
- Perform advanced system analysis, design, development, implementation, and integration of applications, databases, and third-party products.
- Translate technical specifications into code, develop programs, write automated-supporting tests, and produce reports.
- Lead backend optimization for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate data sources, APIs, and services to improve data flow and system efficiency.
- Create and maintain backend architecture and logic documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, resilience, and enterprise architecture best practices.
- Collaborate with front-end teams to design backend interfaces.
- Deploy and promote code across development, test, and production environments and provide follow-up production support.
- Participate in pager duty, change control, design/code/test inspections, systems analysis, and issue resolution.
- Mentor less-experienced staff and communicate technical considerations with cross-functional teams and internal clients.
- Ensure deliverables comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and requirements.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a master’s degree/diploma in Computer Science.
- Expertise in server-side development, system integration, API management, database design and optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Required skills include Java, Spring Boot, Angular or React, Node.js, AWS, CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, SQL queries, GitHub, CI/CD, TDD/BDD, and API microservices.
- Preferred experience includes legacy migration to the cloud, test automation, and Python.
- Knowledge of Agile, Confluence, and JIRA, with an aptitude for process-flow and workflow improvement.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
