Responsibilities
- Perform advanced system analysis, design, development, implementation, and integration of applications and databases.
- Translate technical specifications into code, develop and test software, and support automated testing practices.
- Lead backend optimization for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate data sources, APIs, third-party products, and services to improve system efficiency.
- Create and maintain backend architecture and technical documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, resilience, and enterprise technology standards.
- Collaborate with front-end and cross-functional teams on backend interfaces and system solutions.
- Deploy changes across development, test, and production environments and provide production support.
- Participate in pager duty, design/code/test inspections, change control, issue resolution, and systems analysis.
- Mentor less-experienced staff and communicate technical considerations to internal clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a master’s degree/diploma in Computer Science.
- Expertise in server-side development, system integration, API management, database design, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Required skills include Java, Spring Boot, Angular or React, Node.js, AWS, CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, SQL queries, GitHub, CI/CD, TDD/BDD, and API microservices.
- Experience with legacy migration to cloud, test automation, and Python is preferred.
- Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA and familiarity with Agile practices and process improvement is preferred.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are required for cross-functional work.
