Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and debug production privacy systems across Apple platforms.
  • Architect permission and consent frameworks for conventional and AI-driven workflows.
  • Build system-level APIs and reliable background daemons with robust lifecycle management and fault-tolerant error handling.
  • Strengthen privacy architecture against evolving threat vectors and enforce data minimization and sandboxing for on-device AI models.
  • Build privacy-preserving on-device inference and foundational cross-operating-system components.
  • Reason about machine learning data-access implications and develop guardrails and safety mechanisms for intelligent features.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in C, Objective-C, C++, or Swift.
  • Experience designing system-level APIs and background daemons.
  • Strong Unix-like systems programming knowledge.
  • Experience building reliable daemons with robust lifecycle management and fault-tolerant error handling.
  • Clear technical communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools and ability to incorporate them into daily workflows.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes privacy or security software architecture, cross-functional technical leadership, macOS or Unix systems programming, and full software development lifecycle experience.
  • Familiarity with relational database and local storage design preferred.
  • Practical experience with generative AI tools such as AI-assisted code generation or LLM-powered debugging preferred.
  • Experience with responsible AI practices, including AI safety, privacy-preserving machine learning, or guardrails for intelligent features, preferred.
