Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use languages, databases, containers, orchestration services, and AWS tools to build and operate software.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects on service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Drive refactoring, technical-debt reduction, performance improvements, and long-term technology strategy.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Vue.js, and Node.js.
- Preferred: experience with databases, AWS/GCP/Azure, open source frameworks, front-end frameworks, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, observability, distributed-system performance optimization, mentoring, cross-functional engineering leadership, and establishing coding standards and design patterns.

- Full-time annual base salary ranges by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Plano, TX and Richmond, VA, and $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, VA.
- Performance-based incentive compensation may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
