Base Salary
$405k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate highly available systems that control access to advanced AI models.
- Build configurable trusted-access program infrastructure so access rules can be managed as data rather than code.
- Develop reusable identity and business verification services, including KYC/KYB integrations and regional expansion.
- Protect sensitive personal data and build fair customer review and appeal paths.
- Evolve services that grant and hold access and the customer and user identity models behind them.
- Set technical direction through architecture proposals and design reviews.
- Mentor engineers, participate in on-call, lead incident response, and support emerging programs.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer, ideally at tech-lead level or equivalent.
- Experience designing and operating production distributed systems where correctness, latency, and availability are critical.
- Experience owning work from design through build, deployment, operations, and iteration.
- Ability to make independent technical decisions, set technical direction adopted by other teams, and work across both 0-to-1 and mature systems.
- Strong product sense and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical cross-functional partners.
- Experience with identity, access control, authorization, fraud, risk, trust and safety, or KYC/KYB systems is valuable.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments and handling sensitive personal data is valuable.
- Experience integrating with cloud platforms or partner ecosystems such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure is valuable.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field.

- Annual base salary range of $405,000–$485,000 USD.
- Visa sponsorship is offered, with reasonable efforts made to obtain a visa if an offer is extended, though sponsorship is not successful for every role or candidate.
- Hybrid policy currently requires staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office attendance.
