Responsibilities
- Create database schemas that support business requirements and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and implement databases, including defining tables, relationships, and indexes.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for efficient data retrieval.
- Install and configure database management systems like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups and updates.
- Design data models that reflect business processes and requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements for database projects.
- Write scripts to automate routine database tasks.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a DBA.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science or equivalent experience.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience with databases and data warehousing, including OLTP and ETL.
- Proficient in SQL and Python; knowledge of R is a plus.
- Experience with big data processing and monitoring.
- Familiarity with serverless data solutions and cloud data warehouses like BigQuery.
- Knowledge of operating systems and enterprise security fundamentals.
- Basic understanding of machine learning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
