Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications.
- Build backend components and services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, microservices, and API-based integrations.
- Modernize existing applications and translate business requirements into durable technical solutions.
- Improve application quality, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Write and maintain automated tests and contribute to build, test, and deployment automation.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, Product Owners, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Advise clients and colleagues, contribute to architectural decisions, and share technical knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional Java software development experience in an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, relational databases, and Java database access.
- Knowledge of microservices, API-based integrations, software design, and architectural principles.
- Experience with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
- Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; OpenShift experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Frontend experience with Angular or React is a plus, while Kotlin or Quarkus familiarity is appreciated.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and continuous-learning skills.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
