Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Python and/or Go.
- Implement systems that integrate statistical and machine learning models for risk assessment.
- Create and maintain alerts, monitors, and dashboards for operational stability.
- Write clean, well-structured, and tested code with robust unit and integration tests.
- Lead small projects and act as a technical driver within the engineering team.
- Contribute to architecture and design discussions for the underwriting platform.
- Automate and improve underwriting and decisioning workflows.
Requirements
- Strong experience building backend APIs and services in Python and/or Go.
- Hands-on experience with REST and additional transport formats like gRPC or GraphQL.
- Experience using source control systems such as Git.
- Practical experience deploying services in AWS or another major cloud environment.
- Familiarity with observability and error-tracking tools like Sentry or Datadog.
- Experience working on an agile software team with collaborative development tools.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to independently drive projects and mentor less-experienced engineers.
