Responsibilities
- Embed with assigned public safety agencies to understand their missions, workflows, systems, priorities, and operational friction.
- Translate customer problems into technical requirements, measurable success criteria, and opportunities for AI, automation, data, and Axon capabilities.
- Build applications, dashboards, workflows, automations, and other technical solutions using Axon products and approved tools.
- Apply software engineering practices including APIs, scripting, data structures, testing, debugging, and version control.
- Test, iterate, deploy into customer use, drive adoption, measure results, and document reusable solutions.
- Serve as the agency’s technical resource and coordinate complex technical issues and deployment alignment across Axon teams.
- Capture customer insights, recurring needs, and platform limitations and share them with Mission Engineering, Product, and Engineering.
Requirements
- Typically 3–5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software engineering, systems, technical consulting, implementation engineering, or another hands-on technical role.
- Foundational software engineering capability with demonstrated experience building technical solutions.
- Working knowledge of APIs, scripting or programming, data, testing, debugging, and modern development practices.
- Understanding of AI concepts and practical applications, with the ability to learn emerging platforms and tools quickly.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems, communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, and maintain a customer-facing mindset.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and satisfy applicable agency background requirements.
- Ability to maintain the onsite presence required by the engagement.
- Preferred experience includes Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms, modern frameworks, AI platforms, workflow automation, low-code development, data, or mission-critical environments.
