Responsibilities
- Identify testing approaches for proposed engineering changes.
- Investigate deployment-related issues, determine root causes, and recommend solutions across environments.
- Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end test frameworks.
- Create and maintain test plans and test cases for platform tools including Service Mesh, APIs, and control plane services.
- Collaborate with engineering groups on integration testing and improve testing environments.
- Define and verify requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies.
- Write and maintain scripts to automate platform service deployment.
Requirements
- Eight years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, system internals, and performance.
- Experience building Kubernetes workflows and testing products built on Kubernetes.
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and SaltStack.
- Strong Linux fundamentals, particularly performance tuning.
- Strong Bash and scripting fundamentals.
- Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals including VRF, HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, and DNS.
- Understanding of modern software development lifecycle processes and service-level objective monitoring and alerting.
