Responsibilities
- Develop backend features and customer-facing web services for the Find My product.
- Build services addressing authentication, authorization, scaling, availability, spam control, and reliability.
- Design and implement Java and REST-based services using Netty or similar frameworks.
- Work with Cassandra, Redis, memcached, and related storage and caching technologies.
- Apply Java performance tuning, web-service scaling, and API definition practices.
- Use cryptography standards and protocols in privacy- and security-sensitive systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD integration, operations, and automated testing.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, privacy, design, and product teams on critical projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of validated programming experience.
- Strong Java experience, including Core Java, multithreading, and non-blocking I/O.
- Experience building customer-facing web services and working with authentication, authorization, scaling, availability, spam control, and reliability.
- Strong knowledge of Cassandra, Redis, memcached, or similar data-storage and caching technologies.
- Strong Java performance-tuning, web-service scaling, and API-definition skills.
- Working knowledge of cryptography standards and protocols including PKCS, KMIP, X.509, AES, KDF, and CA.
- Experience writing REST-based services using Netty or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tool integration and operations and full automation testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery; familiarity with machine-learning systems, frameworks, libraries, and algorithms; and familiarity with GitHub, Maven, Docker, Spinnaker, and Kubernetes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively on multifunctional teams.
