Responsibilities
- Architect, upgrade, design, and build scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes, AWS, RDS, and distributed system patterns.
- Drive infrastructure roadmap initiatives focused on reliability, recoverability, scalability, capacity planning, benchmarking, and stress testing.
- Define and maintain SLAs, alerts, anomaly detection, and observability practices across the infrastructure.
- Support AI enablement efforts for infrastructure reliability, developer productivity, and internal tooling.
- Build consistency and scalability across distributed microservices while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Establish engineering practices for observability, security, and CI/CD.
- Mentor engineers, promote operational excellence, and lead complex technical initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant SRE and backend experience.
- Recent experience deploying significant changes to a production application or infrastructure configuration within the past 30 days.
- Strong Golang proficiency and experience building and maintaining APIs.
- Expertise with SQL-based relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL, and performance optimization of schemas and queries.
- Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems patterns, event-driven architecture, stream processing, queues, and transactional outbox patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes AWS cloud infrastructure, AWS Aurora RDS, data engineering, data pipelines, data warehousing, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes containerized microservices, AI developer tooling, commercial APIs, and high-traffic services.
