Responsibilities
- Own multi-quarter technical roadmaps for Service Enablement domains based on internal engineering needs.
- Lead architecture and design for highly available, secure, maintainable platforms and services spanning multiple teams.
- Build and maintain paved roads, automation, reusable frameworks, self-service workflows, and documentation for development, deployment, observability, reliability, and operational ownership.
- Set standards for SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity management, service ownership, and production readiness.
- Support reliable and cost-efficient AI/ML workloads, including inference systems where appropriate.
- Lead RFCs, design reviews, technical decisions, prototypes, and experiments for ambiguous technical problems.
- Participate in production operations and eliminate recurring failure modes through systemic fixes.
- Deliver large initiatives through production adoption and measure platform adoption, productivity, reliability, cost, or reduced operational toil.
- Mentor engineers, coach senior engineers, support hiring, and raise engineering standards across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent depth building and operating production systems.
- 4+ years of experience with at least one modern programming language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, or Python.
- 4+ years across the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operations.
- 4+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure and containerized workloads such as AWS, Kubernetes, or EKS.
- Experience with software design, distributed systems fundamentals, reliability, scalability, performance, failure modes, and API or platform contracts.
- Experience operating production systems, including observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvement.
- Experience treating internal platforms and developer experience as products with attention to usability, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude.
- Preferred experience with internal developer platforms, service templates, golden paths, CI/CD systems, self-service infrastructure, platform security, identity and access management, compliance controls, AI/ML infrastructure, SLOs and SLAs, event-driven systems, workflow orchestration, service networking, large-scale data and messaging infrastructure, platform metrics, technical leadership, or regulated environments.
