Base Salary
$99k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop firmware and software for advanced photonics and instrumentation products.
- Program microcontrollers and build graphical user interfaces.
- Plan and implement complex software and firmware architectures.
- Collaborate across disciplines and provide system-level technical guidance.
- Manage multiple projects, schedules, and progress reporting.
- Perform documentation, bug tracking, and production support.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior software and firmware team members.
Requirements
- 7+ years of firmware or software development experience for scientific, academic, industrial, biotech, medical, or semiconductor instrumentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with C/C++ programming for embedded real-time systems and microcontroller firmware.
- Hands-on embedded development experience in bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Strong debugging skills and proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- GUI development experience with C# and/or Qt C++ on Windows or Linux.
- Python programming, Git version control, and Linux system configuration experience.
- Preferred: STM32 microcontrollers, FreeRTOS, modern C++, Azure DevOps, Linux Bash scripting, and analog or digital electronics experience.
- Strong communication and technical presentation skills.
