Responsibilities
- Design and review AWS and Kubernetes cloud security architecture, including account structure, network segmentation, workload identity, and secure-by-default service patterns.
- Drive remediation at the infrastructure-pattern level by fixing Terraform modules and reusable configurations rather than individual findings.
- Harden the Kubernetes platform through pod security, service mesh and network policy, secrets management, image provenance, and signing controls.
- Build and maintain policy-as-code and infrastructure-as-code scanning that blocks risky patterns in CI.
- Write and ship production code in Go or Python through the engineering CI/CD process.
- Serve as the technical cloud and infrastructure security partner for Amsterdam engineering teams and collaborate with the US-based cloud security team.
Requirements
- Typically 5–8 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform security engineering, including hands-on AWS and Kubernetes work.
- Proficiency in at least one compiled language, such as Go, and one scripting language, such as Python, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, such as Terraform, and a GitOps delivery model using code review rather than manual ticket-based changes.
- Working knowledge of IAM and least-privilege design across cloud and container environments.
- Preferred experience with cloud security posture tools such as Wiz, Orca, or Prisma.
- Preferred experience with software supply-chain security, including SLSA, artifact signing, and provenance.
- Familiarity with EU data residency, cross-border data handling, and multi-cloud environments is desirable.
