Responsibilities
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle from requirements development and architecture through testing, integration, release, installation, and maintenance.
- Develop full-stack software across OS, platform, and mission-specific software layers.
- Build command-and-control software for hardware systems, including command transmission, acknowledgement handling, and interface integration.
- Develop software for activity planning, constraint checking, and mission outcomes.
- Create 2D and 3D visualization applications for complex, dynamic environments with decision tools and user-focused interfaces.
- Develop, deploy, and sustain satellite ground software while troubleshooting production services and resolving defects or incidents.
- Collaborate with systems analysts, programmers, users, program management, and government customers.
- Produce software architecture documentation, requirements documentation, and test procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of development experience, 10 years with a master’s degree, or 6 years with a PhD; 4 additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application.
- Four years of experience with Agile programs and four years designing, building, and deploying software products.
- Four years of experience producing software architecture documentation.
- Full-stack software engineering experience and strong Java 1.8+ object-oriented design and implementation experience.
- Experience developing microservice-based applications, automated CI/CD pipelines, unit and integration tests, and automation frameworks such as Robot or Cucumber.
- Experience with version control systems and strong experience with Bash scripting, Python, or other object-oriented languages in a Linux environment.
- Preferred experience includes Red Hat Linux, AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud deployment; ground systems; secure development; RESTful APIs; JMS; Git, Maven, Helm, or Harbor; JavaScript frameworks; API schemas; deployment standards; production troubleshooting; and operations and maintenance.
- Strong technical documentation, communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
