Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and support of multiple significant software modules.
- Develop Java/J2EE and Python web applications and Spring Boot microservices for platform, authorization, tenancy, subscription, and entitlement capabilities.
- Lead implementation of complex code, automated unit and integration testing, code reviews, debugging, and integration across concurrent projects.
- Identify technical risks, evaluate alternative solutions, and define non-functional requirements covering security, performance, and cost.
- Guide, mentor, motivate, and provide technical direction to other programmers and team members.
- Continuously improve feature-test automation and participate in Scrum ceremonies and engineering communities of practice.
- Document technical artifacts and processes and communicate them effectively to others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or master's degree in computer science with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 6 years of web application development experience using Java/J2EE-related technologies and/or Python, with expertise in object-oriented analysis and design principles.
- Extensive experience with Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Guice, Spring, and JSON/XML/Ajax technologies.
- At least 2 years developing Java/JEE web applications using microservices architecture, including Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented principles, design patterns, data structures, unit testing with JUnit, and domain-driven design.
- At least 2 years of cloud computing experience using AWS services such as S3, DynamoDB, SNS, SES, and EC2.
- At least 3 years of experience with Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, or NoSQL databases, persistence frameworks, and SQL.
- At least 1 year of experience with GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins-based CI/CD frameworks.
- At least 3 years of experience using Scrum-based software development methodologies.
- Experience with testing, testability, automation, large-scale highly available distributed software, and non-functional requirements.
- Preferred experience with JavaScript, Ajax, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS, browser compatibility, mobile platforms, and tools such as SonarQube, Semmle, Veracode, Netsparker, and Ansible.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, documentation ability, initiative, collaboration, and mentoring capability.
