Responsibilities

  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain Canonical technology.
  • Develop solutions for prospective clients.
  • Participate in the delivery of selected embedded Linux projects.
  • Convey market requirements to Canonical stakeholders and help develop or refine generic solutions.
  • Act as a customer advocate and trusted technical advisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Solid embedded Linux experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or an RTOS.
  • Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English and professional fluency in the local Japanese language.
  • Experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to multitask and meet commitments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Customer engagement experience is a plus but not required.
