Responsibilities
- Build the agentic harness, guides, and automated checks that steer coding agents before they act and correct them afterward.
- Design fast deterministic checks for agent sessions and pre-commit, along with slower checks for CI.
- Create custom lint rules, dependency rules, and actionable messages that help agents and engineers fix issues.
- Study defect classes, design protections and release risk gates, track escaped defects, and reduce them over time.
- Develop platform-specific guides and checks for iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, web, and backend repositories.
- Spend 20–30% of working time in a product squad while leading the quality domain across squads.
- Teach engineers to build, adopt, and extend quality checks and tooling.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software or quality engineering, including quality frameworks, platforms, or harnesses for teams shipping through coding agents.
- Experience building agentic workflows beyond conversational chat.
- Deep experience with static analysis, custom lint rules, dependency rules, pre-commit flows, and CI flows.
- Proficiency in at least one of Swift, TypeScript, Rust, Go, or Java, plus the ability to write scripts and small systems quickly.
- Ability to create self-service tools that other engineers can adopt and extend.
- Ability to set quality thresholds that provide useful feedback without overwhelming teams or agents.
- Experience collaborating with engineers, designers, and product partners while handling ambiguity and conflict.
- Preferred: experience building LLM-as-judge checks or evaluation suites for AI product output.
- Preferred: experience writing architecture fitness functions for performance, security, or observability.
- Preferred: familiarity with web, desktop, or mobile test tools, especially for iOS and Android.
- Preferred: experience on a full-cycle team and operating the software built.
