Responsibilities
- Define cloud security standards, guardrails, reference architectures, objectives, and roadmaps for Infrastructure, SRE, and Product Engineering.
- Lead cross-functional cloud security initiatives from scoping through delivery and represent cloud security in architecture and design forums.
- Mentor and uplevel security and platform engineers through pairing, design reviews, and feedback.
- Own scalable threat modeling for new cloud technologies, services, and engineering patterns.
- Drive AWS and GCP control-plane and IAM security, including identity-provider relationships, RBAC, and least privilege.
- Design high-signal cloud threat detections and own detection coverage with the SIEM Management function.
- Serve as a senior incident responder and cloud-forensics lead, converting investigations into incident-response playbooks and preventative controls.
- Own CrowdStrike, Tenable, native cloud security services, and the cloud vulnerability management workflow.
- Secure self-managed Kubernetes control planes, nodes, workloads, admission controls, runtime environments, and the CI/CD supply chain.
- Set Infrastructure-as-Code and pipeline security standards, preferably using Terraform, and lead patch management, base-image hardening, and version management.
- Lead security for large-scale distributed systems and self-managed data stores such as MongoDB.
Requirements
- Several years of production cloud security ownership, including on-call responsibility.
- Hands-on experience with AWS as the primary cloud, GCP, and self-managed Kubernetes.
- Ability to read and write Python and Terraform.
- Experience with secure cloud architecture, threat modeling, IAM, detection engineering, incident response, cloud forensics, Kubernetes security, IaC security, and vulnerability management.
- Ability to lead through technical depth and influence, independently handle ambiguous problems, set technical direction, and mentor other engineers.
