Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements for feasibility and implementation strategy.
- Design, build, maintain, debug, test, integrate, deploy, operate, and enhance software systems using Java or C#.
- Containerize and deploy services with Docker and Red Hat OpenShift, including maintaining Helm/Kustomize manifests and Argo CD applications.
- Develop and maintain APIs using REST and/or gRPC, including versioning, contract-first design, and backward compatibility.
- Instrument and operate services with OpenTelemetry, metrics, logs, and traces; define SLOs, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
- Respond to customer escalations, maintain existing code, and refactor systems to provide reliable solutions.
- Collaborate with quality assurance, documentation, and cross-functional teams to improve application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
- Lead the technical design and development of large or complex solution components or features.
Requirements
- Master’s degree and at least 5 years of directly relevant software development experience, along with a bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in Java or C# and their ecosystems.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift, including building, packaging, and deploying services.
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, schema design, and ORMs such as EF Core and Dapper.
- Experience in Linux/Unix environments and with microservice-oriented architectures and web applications.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC, JDBC, RESTful systems, concurrency patterns, and external and embedded databases.
- Experience with application frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate and familiarity with GUI frameworks such as Icefaces.
- Ability to work on software of intermediate to advanced complexity, with strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, accountability, and self-directed learning skills.
