Responsibilities

  • Collect raw resource-utilization data from workstations, servers, and networks across development, integration, and production environments.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts and tools, including scripts for handling large datasets and automating software acceptance-review analysis.
  • Perform system performance measurement, evaluation, monitoring, diagnostic analysis, and process improvement.
  • Support code refactoring, version-control adoption, and establishment of team test and development environments.
  • Assist with deep-dive analysis, simpler Incident Reports, documentation updates, and integration assignments.
  • Collaborate with NASA customers, systems engineers, software engineers, users, and other engineering teams.
  • Explain technical performance data, metrics, and data visualizations clearly and deliver quality work under deadlines.

Requirements

  • Must be working toward a bachelor's or master's degree; preferred fields include computer science, engineering, information technology, MIS, mathematics, or a related area.
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, and the software development life cycle is preferred.
  • Coding familiarity with Python, C+, Linux, and Windows is expected or desired.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including potential second- or third-shift nights and weekends for on-the-job mission-operations training.
  • Must be able to obtain a NASA Personal Identity Verification badge.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, organization, collaboration, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently are required.
  • Desired qualifications include experience with data visualization, containers, Office 365, Windows administration, automation, Linux, Python, data mining, data management, monitoring tools, requirements verification, networking, data structures, data science, statistical learning, and data programming.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Python virtual environments, Docker, Pod, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, BigFix, Splunk, or Wireshark is desirable.
