Responsibilities
- Experiment with LLMs and multimodal models.
- Build prototypes and production-quality components in Python and PyTorch.
- Optimize model inference and improve latency, throughput, batching, caching, GPU utilization, and memory usage.
- Build evaluation frameworks for model quality and behavior.
- Work with embeddings, retrieval, reranking, structured generation, and agentic systems.
- Deploy and troubleshoot model-backed services in realistic workloads.
- Read, reproduce, and test ideas from relevant research papers.
- Design controlled experiments, analyze failures, and document findings clearly.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills and working knowledge of PyTorch and modern neural-network architectures.
- Understanding of transformers, tokenization, embeddings, attention, sampling, and decoding.
- Ability to write maintainable software beyond notebooks.
- Comfort with Linux, Git, Docker, APIs, and basic cloud infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Understanding of model serving, inference runtimes, continuous batching, KV caching, quantization, throughput-versus-latency trade-offs, GPU memory constraints, mixed precision, device placement, profiling, and structured generation.
- Demonstrated technical depth through an ML or systems project, research or thesis work, research-paper implementation, open-source contribution, inference or training system, side project, benchmark, or performance experiment.
- A strong foundation in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Operations Research, or a related field is preferred.
- Research experience is useful but not mandatory.
