Base Salary
$160k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software for equipment that builds and tests medical devices.
- Develop software and algorithms for semi-automated electro-mechanical systems and contribute to manufacturing platform architecture.
- Build and maintain software infrastructure for analyzing data generated by manufacturing equipment.
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Integrate software with PLCs, sensors, robotics, and product controls to ensure integrity in volume production.
- Document, direct, and perform IQOQPQ and DQ validation activities on manufacturing equipment.
- Support and enhance existing production software while following software development practices.
- Own manufacturing software projects, resolve technical roadblocks, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive projects to completion.
- Mentor less experienced and junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, with Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
- 6+ years of software design and development experience; a higher degree can offset years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and tools; C# and Python are a plus.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, object-oriented design, design patterns, and software architecture.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and delivering software from inception through launch.
- Experience integrating software with hardware components such as PLCs, sensors, and robotics.
- Experience planning, executing, and delivering projects while communicating progress and roadblocks.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and diagnosing complex technical issues.
- Preferred experience with scalable production-quality software architecture and development, data engineering for industrial applications, robotic or electro-mechanical control systems, medical-device manufacturing, regulated engineering environments, software security, and industrial automation protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.
