Responsibilities
- Develop inter-cloud connectivity solutions for regulated enterprise customers using Sourcegraph Cloud.
- Build a control plane to orchestrate fleets of single-tenant Sourcegraph Cloud instances.
- Expose complex infrastructure through APIs for internal customers and engineering teams.
- Debug and patch complex upstream dependencies such as CDK for Terraform and Terraform providers for GCP.
- Design and implement reliable cloud infrastructure, features, and distributed-systems solutions.
- Lead initiatives through discovery, design, implementation, and delivery while collaborating with product, design, engineering, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Define long-term technical strategies, scale existing services, manage technical debt, and iterate based on customer feedback.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to support contractual SLA commitments.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Go or another strongly typed language.
- Knowledge of at least one public cloud provider: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code solutions and Kubernetes for tooling and automation.
- Ability to debug distributed systems and design and implement solutions involving operating-system-level networking, CPU, and memory concepts.
- Clear and empathetic communication skills, particularly in writing and documentation.
- Preferred: experience building externally consumed APIs such as gRPC services.
- Preferred: experience implementing system-level software, custom transport protocols, or Kubernetes controllers/operators.
- Preferred: published blog posts or technical talks and experience on small, high-performing teams or at technology startups.
