
Senior Principal System Software Architect (embedded systems/ software-defined vehicle) (f/m/div)

- Lead the software-defined vehicle reference architecture and embedded software strategy for automotive Body SoCs.
- Define architecture visions, standards, roadmaps, high-quality specifications, and reference designs across embedded platforms.
- Lead cross-functional teams and drive microservices, event-driven, and service-oriented architecture patterns for in-vehicle computing.
- Ensure safety and cybersecurity by design and guide DevOps, continuous integration/deployment, and AI practices for embedded software.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architects, engineers, and software developers.
- Collaborate with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, customers, product lines, sales, marketing, and hardware and software engineering teams.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to track automotive technology trends.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Experience with semiconductors, embedded software, MCUs, processors, and ARM- or RISC-V-based SoCs.
- Experience defining embedded software architectures and conducting hardware/software co-design for MCUs.
- Experience with automotive software engineering standards and practices; ASPICE is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of automotive networks and diagnostics, including Ethernet, 10BaseT1S, TSN, RCP, CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, SPI, SOME/IP, UDS/DoIP, and E2E protection.
- Knowledge of safety and cybersecurity by design, including ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
- Knowledge of generative and agentic AI for embedded software and Edge AI.
- Fluency in embedded C or Rust, with familiarity in model-based design and UML/SysML systems modeling.
- Experience with open-source tools, toolchains, and requirements tools such as Jama is a plus.
- Familiarity with agile development, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Experience in an automotive OEM or Tier 1 organization with responsibility for software strategy and system architecture is preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills across hardware, software, safety, supplier, customer, and senior-management groups.
- Fluent business English.
