Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python.
- Build end-to-end applications, integrations, and backend services leveraging Databricks.
- Design and implement APIs and integrate backend systems with external services.
- Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions primarily using AWS.
- Own technical solutions from requirements analysis and architecture through implementation and deployment.
- Contribute to frontend development and work with modern JavaScript frameworks when needed.
- Use AI-powered development tools and automation to improve engineering efficiency and code quality.
- Build prototypes, validate technical concepts, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Collaborate with international cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation, performance optimization, clean code, and maintainable engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of commercial experience in Python backend development.
- Senior-level engineering experience independently designing, developing, and delivering complex technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, distributed systems, and software design principles.
- Experience with cloud-based application development, preferably using AWS.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming, clean code principles, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD processes, version control systems, and modern development practices.
- Willingness to contribute to frontend development when required.
- Openness to AI-assisted development tools, automation, and emerging technologies.
- Strong problem-solving, independence, ownership, and solution-oriented decision-making skills.
- Ability to consider scalability, performance, maintainability, and business requirements in technical decisions.
- Advanced written and spoken English for collaboration with international clients and teams.
- Preferred: familiarity with Databricks and frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.
- Preferred: experience with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Docker, Linux, microservices, event-driven systems, AI agents, or financial services applications.
