Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Ubuntu integrations for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks
  • Work with partners to deliver optimized Ubuntu experiences on their platforms
  • Contribute to technical plans, testing strategies, and quality metrics
  • Serve as a technical lead on complex customer engagements involving architectures from cloud to edge
  • Help customers integrate applications and SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server
  • Deliver performance enhancements and next-generation features for upcoming hardware

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field
  • Experience with Linux packaging, including Debian, RPM, and Yocto
  • Experience working with open-source communities and licenses
  • Experience with C and C++
  • Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team
  • Experience with graphics stacks is beneficial
  • Understanding of networking concepts and technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, and HTTP/REST is beneficial
  • Understanding of security best practices in IoT or server environments is beneficial
  • IoT or embedded experience spanning boards, SoCs, BMCs, bootloaders, firmware, operating systems, applications, and services is beneficial
  • Experience with Docker, OCI containers, or Kubernetes is beneficial
  • Public speaking experience is beneficial
