Responsibilities
- Lead and prioritize Splunk client work requests, projects, and service tasks.
- Define processes, procedures, strategies, and responsibilities for internal projects and team development.
- Mentor junior SIEM engineers and act as an escalation point.
- Assist with client activation and onboarding and provide remote implementation consulting.
- Implement and configure SIEM software and appliance-based products in enterprise and government environments.
- Develop, deploy, tune, and maintain SIEM content, threat detections, dashboards, reports, alerts, and custom applications.
- Analyze and aggregate security logs from varied devices and data sources.
- Train clients and conduct knowledge transfers on security and system configuration.
- Review team work to ensure compliance with Optiv quality standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience managing and maintaining SIEM systems.
- 2–3 years of professional experience working with networks and network architecture.
- At least 1 year of professional experience writing Splunk SIEM content.
- Expert-level knowledge of Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Experience building complex searches across disparate data sources and using the Enterprise Security Asset & Identity and Threat Intelligence Framework.
- Proficiency managing Unix and Linux operating systems.
- Strong experience writing complex regular expressions and extracting structured and unstructured fields.
- Experience with threat detections, security logging, EDRs, firewalls, and Active Directory.
- Experience installing and configuring Splunk Core and Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Experience configuring or working with Splunk Search Head and Indexer Clusters.
- Experience creating custom Splunk applications, dashboards, reports, and alerts.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems, communicate effectively, work with customers and partners, and provide shift and on-call support.
