Responsibilities

  • Design, write, maintain, and extend automated system, integration, and regression test scripts.
  • Apply manual testing where automation is not yet appropriate and create plans to automate those areas.
  • Analyse user stories and use cases, raise quality concerns, and contribute to refinement.
  • Detect, document, track, and reproduce software defects and inconsistencies.
  • Define and uphold quality procedures, standards, specifications, and testing schedules.
  • Contribute to the design and development of maintainable automated test frameworks.
  • Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline and promote automation and shift-left practices.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Delivery Leads, Product Owners, and Engineering Leads throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Produce and maintain testing documentation, plans, reports, coverage information, and test results.
  • Support continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and personal development in software quality engineering.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar role, with demonstrable automation output.
  • Proven experience writing and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestComplete, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or coding language such as Python, C#, or JavaScript.
  • Experience integrating automated testing frameworks into a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Ability to debug and refactor code within an automated test framework.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and producing high-quality test plans, documentation, and reports.
  • Experience identifying, communicating, and accurately documenting software defects and replication steps.
  • Experience executing RESTful API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of load, soak, stress, and system testing concepts.
  • Ability to use Git or equivalent to push and pull source code.
  • Understanding of the OWASP Top 10 software vulnerabilities and software quality standards.
  • Awareness of TDD and BDD.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience with Azure Test Plans, SonarCloud, or performance and security testing tools is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the construction, engineering, or field service management industry is desirable.
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
