Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to initiatives that improve engineering processes, products, and services.
- Plan and deliver large projects with minimal guidance.
- Partner with internal platform providers to create and improve platform capabilities.
- Participate in systems design and review processes.
- Scope, participate in, and lead cross-functional projects.
- Develop the engineering team through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- Design, develop, operate, and debug high-traffic production systems while maintaining performance, uptime, scale, code quality, and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong development skills in at least one programming language, with Go preferred.
- Experience designing, developing, operating, and debugging high-traffic production systems.
- A strong focus on infrastructure performance, uptime, scale, quality, reliability, and thoughtful design.
- Motivation to build systems that improve others’ productivity and curiosity about customer needs.
- Collaborative communication, problem-solving, and partnership skills.
- Confidence in mentorship, knowledge transfer, asking difficult questions, and incorporating input.
- Preferred: experience building applications against the Kubernetes API.
- Preferred: familiarity with Kubernetes internals, including its architecture or codebase.
- Preferred: familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
