Base Salary
$176k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build highly scalable and reliable additions to the platform.
- Own application delivery, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
- Evaluate platform tools, technologies, frameworks, and vendors with senior team members.
- Write performant code, review peer code, and ensure feature security and scalability.
- Contribute to technical debt and feature backlogs and suggest platform improvements.
- Architect, design, and develop testable, fault-tolerant, performant software.
- Develop highly available distributed systems and build observability into applications.
- Model system resource requirements as system load changes.
- Lead as an individual contributor across teams and drive results.
- Design systems that protect customer experience and service availability during outages.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a science, programming, or engineering-related field.
- 5+ years of experience building highly scalable consumer-facing applications, preferably in e-commerce.
- Experience with Java or other object-oriented languages.
- Experience architecting and developing testable, fault-tolerant, performant software designed for future evolution.
- Experience with complex networked systems composed of multiple components.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud-based offerings.
- Automated service testing experience, including JUnit, Mockito, JMeter, or Gatling.
- Strong data structures and algorithms fundamentals.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with Cassandra or similar NoSQL databases preferred.
- Experience with Docker or similar containerized solutions.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gradle, Jenkins, or Spinnaker.
- Experience prioritizing work, managing oneself, and collaborating across teams as an individual contributor.
- Interest in product-oriented technology companies and dedication to improving customer experience.
