Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance Point-of-Sale and batch-processing systems using Micro Focus COBOL, CICS, Oracle, and JCL.
- Analyze RFPs and business requirements and collaborate with clients and internal teams on solution design, documentation, and development estimates.
- Develop and unit test software solutions and support comprehensive testing of system modifications and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve, and document complex application and production issues.
- Identify solutions to minimize system disruptions and prevent outages and provide on-call production support as needed.
- Prepare functional and technical specifications, status updates, system documentation, reports, and technical exhibits.
- Present system requirements, designs, and proposed solutions to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Support system upgrades, modernization initiatives, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience working with Micro Focus COBOL, CICS, JCL, and Oracle in a Linux environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Micro Focus COBOL, Oracle 10g/11g, CICS, and JCL.
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to develop complex SQL statements.
- Hands-on experience with Micro Focus Net Express IDE and Red Hat Linux.
- Experience developing or supporting a Pharmacy Benefit Management system.
- Experience with production support activities and monitoring.
- Working knowledge of mainframe environments and technologies.
- At least 3 years of U.S.-based professional experience.
- Ability to work morning or afternoon shifts based on business needs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and technical learning skills.
- Preferred: experience with IBM COBOL, ACUCOBOL, other COBOL environments, ANSI-compliant databases, and SQL across relational database platforms.
