Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and support thermal unit control firmware involving PID loops, device interactions, and controls based on defined requirements.
  • Perform full lifecycle application development including design, programming, debugging, peer review, unit testing, performance tuning, and integration.
  • Develop test plans, execution backlogs, and task estimates with project management and scrum master partners.
  • Troubleshoot existing systems and provide product testing, customer witness testing, and field startup support.
  • Provide technical writing including documentation, user guides, and service guides.
  • Support hardware development and maintain control requirements, specifications, and documentation.
  • Develop near-real-time control algorithms and device communications using serial, RS-485, Modbus, and CANbus.
  • Provide timely status updates and comply with safety, quality, and process requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with strong emphasis on embedded software.
  • At least 1 year of experience with embedded Linux-based controls PLC firmware development.
  • Knowledge of PLC, Structured Text, C, C++, JavaScript, HTML, Python, and Bash Shell.
  • HVAC knowledge is highly desired.
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated, process-driven environment.
