Base Salary
$135k - $202k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain internal tooling and automation for security oversight across the software development lifecycle.
- Deploy, configure, and optimize Wiz and Fastly WAF across CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes clusters.
- Build AI-assisted tooling and workflows while understanding the behavior of the underlying models and systems.
- Embed security controls and guardrails into developer workflows and pipelines in partnership with software engineering teams.
- Conduct code reviews, threat modeling, and product security assessments with a focus on scalable remediation.
- Evaluate, integrate, and maintain SIEM, WAF, CSPM, and similar security tooling as code where possible.
- Own security tooling and automation components, ship meaningful automation, and reduce manual security overhead.
- Stay current on security threats, tooling, and AI-driven security engineering approaches.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of combined software development and security engineering experience, with software development as the primary craft.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python or Go, with experience shipping production-grade code.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-based deployments in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Practical experience integrating and operating cloud-native security tooling such as Wiz, Fastly WAF, SIEM, or CSPM.
- Experience using AI and LLM-based tools for development and automation, with the ability to explain how the underlying systems behave.
- Solid understanding of application and cloud security fundamentals, common vulnerability classes, and secure-by-design principles.
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineering and security teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills, including the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Security certifications such as Security+, C|EH, or cloud security credentials are preferred.
