Base Salary
$135k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the Wi-Fi software and product roadmap.
- Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance.
- Collaborate with RF and electrical engineering teams to improve software and hardware testing procedures.
- Improve Wi-Fi mesh performance.
- Mentor software engineers and help build a strong work culture.
- Create tools for frequent and reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis within a continuous integration and release system.
- Drive cross-team projects and support Wi-Fi performance or stability testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or another STEM discipline and at least one year of professional software development experience, or at least three years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least one year of development experience in C or C++.
- Experience with the IEEE 802.11 wireless standard and networking protocols such as UDP and TCP/IP.
- Experience developing embedded software for networking equipment.
- Strong knowledge of networks, embedded systems, math, and physics.
- Knowledge of DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, and network stack internals.
- Experience with networking kernel modules and drivers.
- Understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
- Experience with Golang, Python, or hostAP is preferred.
- Experience with security issues associated with distributed systems and internet services is preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
- Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.
Benefits
- Base salary ranges from $135,000 to $175,000 per year for Wi-Fi Software Engineer/Level I and from $155,000 to $210,000 per year for Wi-Fi Software Engineer/Level 2.
