Responsibilities
- Design and scale distributed systems that handle long-running tasks across thousands of claims in parallel.
- Build modular Python APIs and services integrating with external APIs, vector stores, and LLM APIs.
- Develop event-driven microservices using AWS Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
- Implement robust error handling, retry logic, idempotency, and fault-tolerant execution paths.
- Support prompt execution, state management, memory, checkpointing, and policy-driven routing with orchestration and AI teams.
- Build observability through logging, tracing, and metrics in serverless and cloud-native environments.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of overall experience is required.
- At least 5 years of Python development experience in backend or systems engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of asyncio, async/await, event loops, cooperative multitasking, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and modular code design.
- Experience designing distributed systems, including task partitioning, stateless and stateful service patterns, concurrency, parallelism, and queue-based orchestration.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON serialization, fault-tolerant cloud services, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CI/CD pipelines, CloudWatch, and production debugging.
- A degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field is required; a Ph.D. is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are required.
