Senior Platform Engineer , Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Architect cloud and hybrid infrastructure across cloud providers and on-premises locations with multi-region high availability and disaster recovery.
- Participate in Site Reliability Engineering practices, automate away toil, and improve system reliability and delivery velocity.
- Develop and maintain internal platform software for deployment, monitoring, alerting, operations automation, and cloud infrastructure management.
- Design and build petabyte-scale, high-throughput data systems supporting availability, consistency, security, and privacy.
- Own platform implementation and functionality end to end, including live-service performance and availability monitoring.
- Lead technical vision, projects, cross-team engagements, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of production engineering and management experience involving deployment, release, maintenance, and migration.
- At least 8 years of production software development experience using a high-level programming language such as Python, Golang, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- At least 5 years of medium- to large-scale production infrastructure management with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience building and managing cybersecurity platforms such as Splunk, Sentinel, ELK, Anvilogic, Crogl, or Databricks.
- Expertise in operations and workflow automation with tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Production Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
- Deep understanding and production experience with CI/CD tools and pipeline implementation, including Jenkins, Harness, Spinnaker, or Argo CD.
- Understanding of cloud security principles, Linux fundamentals, distributed systems, and complex cloud-environment performance troubleshooting.
- Production experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Ability to translate business requirements into production-ready software, lead projects autonomously, and communicate effectively.
